For those of you who, like us, have been shocked by the sudden death of one of the greatest artists of the twentieth century, we have created two walksites where you can meet, listen to his music, watch some of his videos and chat about what he meant for you.

New villages opening: Italy and India

Today, we opened two new villages: Italy and India. Everybody who wishes to publish a walksite in these two villages can do so now.

We hope that you will soon enjoy lots of new Italian and Indian walksites.

You can also publish your private room in the new communities of these villages.

News Assurances, a French portal on the Insurance industry, has built its walksite in Yoowalk.

I like this kind of examples which is exactly why we created Yoowalk : to enable people to meet around common areas of interest, brands, contents, issues, shops, etc. And when companies like News Assurances define the business they can make out of it, we’ve reached our goal.

Buzz De Luxe, a French blog on luxury and the fashion industry, views Yoowalk as the potential new Eldorado of 3D web for the luxury industry, after the disappointments of Second Life and the failure of Google Lively: Read the article (in French).

Publisher tool

All right, it is not quite ready, and there are still some bugs, but we can be proud to announce that we published online the publisher tool. This tool enables any publisher of an existing website to build a 3D version of his website. This 3D version is called a « walksite ».

To imagine this publishing tool, our principle was « ease publishers’ life« .

Thus, this lead to

a drag and drop tool where the users can simply choose items from an object bank, drag it and drop it where he wants in the room. Then a simple menu enables him to include the content (text, image, video, sound, etc. …) in the objects. No need to be an ingeneer to build a walksite: anybody can do it!
the use of xml files so that content in walksites are refreshed automatically as soon as the content on the corresponding website is renewed: no double writing of articles!
a free tool: websites publishers will benefit from a free tool to organise a 3D space dedicated to their communities!
